Software Engineer Position

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of professional experience writing full-stack object-oriented software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to user-requested changes quickly in an agile-based fashion.

• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues from end-user feedback.
• Strong understanding of source control systems.
• Experience with relational database architecture and development.
• Team player always looking to learn more about how to write solid code that is easy to read and test

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong experience with writing C#.
• Experience in insurance, actuarial, or other financial-related industry.
• Understanding and experience writing T-SQL.

Responsibilities:

• General analysis, design, and development for existing business-facing applications
• Work closely with other developers
• Demonstrate proficiency in trouble-shooting code and recommending a solution
• Solicit inputs on and follow group development standards
• Learn and follow standard group procedures
• Participate in, and initiate code reviews
• Self-management skills including when to seek assistance
• Develop and perform test plans
• Demonstrate improving code quality
• Develop and refine requirements based on end-user input
• Independently learn and take on additional responsibilities
• Independently recommend system / procedural improvements
