    CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND PERMITTING SOFTWARE PRODUCT MANAGER

    e-PlanSoft is looking for that special person to be our Product Manager. We are a customer focused software company that’s changing the way agencies do construction plan review. Do you know the difference between permitting software and plan review software? Are you obsessive about ease of use and simplifying complex processes?     We are a small startup that is changing the way people collaborate on construction plan review projects. We’ve been around for more than ten years, winning contracts over our big name competitors. Based in Irvine, California we are a team of highly talented individuals.

    The job involves the following responsibilities:

    • Defining the product vision and roadmap
    • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
    • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
    • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
    • Defining the product vision and roadmap
    • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
    • Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
    • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
    • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
    • Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
    • Determines customers’ needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain requirements.
    • Recommends the right solution to customers by reviewing product specifications and requirements.
    • Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products.
    • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
    • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analysis, answering questions and requests.
    • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with software engineering
    • Introduces and markets new products and product features by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
    • Maintains product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional groups.
    • Industry names such as Accela, Tyler EnerGov, Computronix, BasicGov, Infor, Plangrid, Bluebeam are not foreign to you.

    You also meet most (if not more) of the following requirements:

    • Understand how permitting software works
    • Construction project management experience
    • Passion for improving government process especially with regard to permitting
    • Know how to write software requirement documentation
    • Understand how to read construction plans
    • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful software product throughout its lifecycle
    • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
    • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
    • Experience with Agile methodologies using JIRA.
    • You’re so much fun to work with, that if you were working on the weekends, we’d want to join you (not that we will, but we may)
