eDriving’s mission is to help our clients reduce collisions, injuries, and license violations, thereby ensuring that all drivers return home safely to their loved ones at the end of each day. We’re looking for a fearless and hands-on Backend Java Engineer to join our fast paced team; someone excited by innovation and translating visions into a product that can save lives. Our solution uses smartphone-based telematics to identify risky driving behavior (e.g., phone use, speeding) and formulate a FICO driving score that is predictive of future risk levels. It provides behavior-based training modules directly to the driver, as well as continual engagement for drivers and managers to guide safer behaviors and help safety become part of every day.

Our Engineering office is based in San Jose, however this position will start as a work-from-home position.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Design and develop responsive applications to collect, aggregate, analyze and react to real time sensor data.
• Develop an effective BI solution for visualizing information.
• Build server side highly-scalable restful API for internal and public consumption.
• Working in a fast-paced environment, with commitment and flexibility.
• Work closely with other engineers and product/business teams to incorporate ideas and feedback in the product.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Seasoned Java developer with 3+ years of hands-on experience.
• Hands-on experience with NOSQL data storage solutions (dynamoDB.....)
• Ability to break large problems into pieces and solving them methodically.
• Knowledge of procedural and object oriented design, programming and testing techniques.
• Extensive experience working with large time series based data is a big plus.
• Experience with Big data computing solution and real-time computation system is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with AWS architecture, maintenance, performance monitoring and alerts, EC2, S3, dynamoDB.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
