    SUMMARY OF POSITION

    The HR Business Partner is responsible for employee relations, leadership development, organizational development performance management, training, and execution of initiatives that enhance the employee value proposition. This position advises on compliance, short and long-term business needs, and how applicable strategies may impact involved parties. Maintains an applied knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local employment law and regulations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coaches and mentors managers and employees.
    • Manages and resolves employee relations activities, including investigations, discipline, and termination.
    • Partners with leadership to execute performance reviews.
    • Delivers developmental training to managers and employees.
    • Participates in weekly meetings with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
    • Plans and recommends solutions aligned with core values and strategic goals.
    • Provides guidance and input on business restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
    • Participates in and monitors training programs.
    • Ensures regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborates with legal counsel when necessary.
    • Responsible for HR policies and procedures, including writing, rollout, and maintenance. Includes responsibility for handbook updates and multi-state addendums.
    • Assists with maintenance and execution of the safety program, including managing worker’s compensation claims and OSHA logs.
    • Manages employee leave of absences, including FMLA compliance for eligible sites.
    • Partners with payroll and recruiting on development and execution of HR programs and protocols.
    • Provides policy guidance and interpretation to the assigned location leadership team.
    • May serve on cross-functional teams and/or committees to improve and/or streamline plant operations.
    • Assists COO and General Managers with labor analyses reports, as requested.
    • Assists site management with community relations, as needed.
    • Will be required to regularly visit dedicated facilities to provide the above mentioned support to all employees and management. Flexible during the COVID-19 pandemic. Travel is minimal and at the HRBP’s discretion or as needed due to sensitive HR items that may benefit from an in-person meeting.

    • Flexibility/Adaptability -Adapts easily to changes in work priorities and environment and is willing to assume additional responsibility and learn new procedures. Demonstrates effective organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
    • Goal-oriented, evidence-based decision-maker.
    • Excellent computer skills with applied knowledge of Google Suite products.
    • Thorough knowledge of HR best practices, laws, and methodologies.

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or related field required with a minimum of 5+ years of human resources experience, relevant to employee relations and leadership development.
    • May consider relevant human resources experience in lieu of education.
    • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification(s), preferred.
    • Manufacturing experience, preferred

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Travel to plant facilities, up to 20-25%
    • Works in plant environment, including time on the production floor with employees
    • Schedule may demand flexible hours outside of normal business day
