    PURCHASING COORDINATOR – COMPETITIVE – TRACY, CA

    THE ROLE

    Would you welcome the opportunity to work for a quality-driven company, joining an entrepreneurial “can-do” team? American Custom Meats, a leading national meat supplier, has an immediate need for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, ordering, coordinating and ensuring we receive all meat, ingredient, and packaging materials on time.

    The key responsibilities of a Purchasing Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

    • Ordering meat, ingredients, and packaging materials, coordinating and scheduling deliveries based upon warehouse and production needs and storage capabilities.
    • Periodically researching/auditing product vendors and ensuring ACM receives the best quality/price combination for all items ordered; Maintaining vendor relationships.
    • Processing receipts and ensuring accuracy; Creating a cycle count program and collaborating with the warehouse to manage ingredients and packaging inventory.

    THE PERSON

    The key skills and qualities of a Purchasing Coordinator:

    • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
    • 1-year experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment with emphasis on purchasing.
    • 2 years’ experience working in an office, with a high degree of professionalism.
    • Must be very detail oriented and organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and use sound judgement and diplomacy.
    • Intermediate level/ability with Excel and Word.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including exceptional written and verbal communication.
