About the Position:
The Commercialization Manager will work closely with the entire cross-functional team to manage the full product life cycle. This individual will own the key product development processes (Stage Gate, I&R, product timelines) to ensure flawless execution of new and renovated product development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage commercialization timelines across supplements, foods, & fitness/apparel/gear - collaborating with R&D, Ops, Quality, Marketing, & Sales.
- Collaborate with Marketing to set yearly and pipeline launch schedules.
- Lead the Stage Gate process – includes tasking out key deliverables to the cross functional team from Ideation, Concept Plan & Scoping, Development, Testing & Validation, Launch & Implementation, and Post Launch Review.
- Utilize key data platforms such as; SPINS, Mintel, Amazon, to ensure the success and tracking of new and renovated product launches.
- Manage the I&R process (Innovation & Renovation) working with the executive and key account team to assign next steps to the Stage Gate Committee.
- Provide leadership and coordination to communicate and resolve issues pertaining to project timelines.
- Collaborate with Director on regular cadence to provide feedback on team, projects, development efforts, and team goals.
- Contribute to innovation, trouble shooting, and brain storming ideas in a team environment for future platform growth in key consumer needed state areas.
- Understand customer needs, business needs and strategy by attending and participating in cross-functional team meetings.
- Identify and implement new processes and procedures to efficiently drive the business forward.
Requirements- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year accredited college or university in Food Science, Biology, Engineering, Chemistry or Equivalent BS degree, with 4+ years of experience in R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing and/or Quality Assurance in food and/or supplement industry is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge in timeline management (Gantt charts, Asana, excel).
- Must have strong interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, and have the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a high-paced environment while staying in control under pressure.
- Must have excellent analytical, written and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex technical information and have an industry leading understanding of ingredient functionality, product evaluation, health and nutrition, food manufacturing processes, microbiology, quality assurance principles, and market research practices.
