    The Seminar Network seeks a Director of Events to join its fast-moving, growing team. This is a new position and will report to the Managing Director of Programs and Events. This role will manage a 4-6 person team responsible for the planning and execution of the guest experience and logistics at best-in-class VIP events of between 20 and 600 participants. Other primary responsibilities include developing and executing a regional events strategy, as well as identifying opportunities to innovate and strengthen our current events efforts.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Build, manage and guide the team responsible for the planning and execution of donor events across the country.
    • Working with major gifts officers and department leaders, develop and execute a regional events strategy to identify new donors and strengthen relationships with our current donors.
    • Oversee guest experience and event execution at biannual VIP events for 500+ business and philanthropic leaders, including coordination with event venues and event vendors.
    • Supervise a team of 4-6 employees.
    • Lead nationwide venue searches and manage site selection for future events.
    • Understand best practices and develop and execute strategies to continuously improve our events.
    • Measure effectiveness of events in achieving their objectives.
    • Work closely with finance team to manage event budgets.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required
    • 8+ years’ experience in a professional environment is required
    • Direct experience in planning and executing both small- and large-scale events and conferences as well as in managing and developing a team
    • A passion and commitment to free-market principles
    • Ability to multi-task, execute under tight deadlines, and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure
    • Demonstrated evidence of leadership ability and entrepreneurial behavior, exceptional attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills
    • High degree of discretion and confidentiality
    • Willingness to be flexible, working extra hours and traveling (around 10%) as needed
    • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work without direct supervision
