  • Responsibilities

    In Pursuit Of is seeking a Communications Assistant to support all functions of a successful communications team. In this role, daily responsibilities may vary but will include tracking and reporting media coverage, monitoring press opportunities, drafting internal messaging content, basic research, building and maintaining press lists, and assisting with the team’s administrative needs. The ideal candidate will have initiative, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and written — clearly and concisely.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Track and report media coverage

    • Build and maintain press lists
    • Basic research
    • Draft internal messaging content
    • Assist with local and state media pitches              

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Communications, English, history, or political science degree (or working toward)
    • Demonstrated interest in building communications/media skills
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of legislative process and how government works
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in high pressure environment
