goBILDA is looking to add an Embedded Firmware Engineer to our product development team! This position offers extensive hands-on work in electrical, computer, and software engineering. The primary focus will be designing embedded software and electronics hardware for the educational and hobby robotics markets. Primary product lines include but are not limited to: Brushed, brushless, and stepper motor controllers, servo signal generators, PWM signal mixing, switching power regulators, LED lighting and more! You will also have an opportunity to learn and develop CAD skills by developing and modifying electronics enclosures and cases. Working with aluminum, plastic and other materials. Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering
Primary Responsibilities:
Write and develop software for embedded AVR and 8051 based microcontrollers.
Test, troubleshoot, and debug new product designs on a software and hardware level.
Perform electrical design work, consisting of circuit schematic design, embedded microcontroller implementation, and PCB layout.
Produce assembly/manufacturing documentation for new products.
Manage communication between external vendors and partners.
3D CAD modeling with Fusion 360.
Assemble, test and iterate on prototype electronics.
Required Skills:
Learn, creativity, and self sufficiency.
Excellent coding skills.
Experience in using electrical testing equipment: oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
Able to understand electrical and mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
Circuit design, schematic development, and PCB layout.
Experience with a soldering iron and hot air rework station.
Optional Skills:
Experience in developing Windows-based applications that will interface with real-world hardware.
3D CAD Modeling.
