    goTenna is looking for a full-time Community Program Intern to help with the implementation and execution of goTenna's RISE-NYC grant, awarded by the New York City Economic Development Council (NYCEDC) with funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

    This internship is for you if you love working in fast-paced environments and are interested in small businesses, technology startups, and how the private sector can partner with the public sector. Your primary focus will be on business outreach, canvassing, distribution, and training activities throughout New York City.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Cultivate relationships with small business owners and community partners, including Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), chambers of commerce, non-profits
    • Find creative ways (i.e online marketing, canvassing, relationship building, etc.) to source business leads and convert them into program participants
    • Manage business accounts, data, and administrative duties for program participants
    • Schedule visits, deliver inventory, and train businesses on how to use goTenna's technology
    • Assist in documenting product inventory from intake to delivery receipt

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Excellent attention to detail with strong organization skills
    • Track record of relationship-building and cultivating trust quickly
    • Public speaking skills and the ability to give presentations
    • Familiarity with Google Suite
    • Self-motivated and willingness to work in a fast-past environment while learning new things
    • Ability to lift 20lbs

    IT'D BE AWESOME IF YOU HAD:

    • Canvassing experience
    • Local small business connections
    • Experience explaining technology and software to non-digital natives
    • An interest in off-grid communications or disaster preparedness
    • Fluency in one of the following languages: Chinese, Russian, Spanish
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive in NYC

    This is a paid, full-time internship based in Brooklyn, NY, and will report to the Community Partnerships Manager.
