    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Research Analyst works with the VP of Business Insights to monitor, analyze, and communicate the competitive position of the San Antonio, Texas, regional economy. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail, and discretion. This individual strives to understand the economic landscape of the region, its industry ecosystems, and its labor market. The analyst understands how to build crisp, clear summaries of relevant and timely data to create a business case for investing in the San Antonio region. This position will be responsible for program management and execution of all delegated Business Insights implementation activities associated with the “All In” regional strategy.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    Responsibilities:

    Management Analysis

    Collect and interpret a variety of economic, demographic, financial, environmental, and other data to support greater:SATX organizational objectives. This includes utilizing online information tools such as Lightcast, CoStar, D&B Hoovers, Texas LMI, NCES IPEDS, and general search engine research to compile information.

    Serve Economic Development, Business Advancement, and/or Administrative information needs via the research and composition of reports, presentations, and other collateral. This includes assembling informational reports in Word, Powerpoint, or Excel featuring information obtained via research as described above.

    Design, project manage, and assemble Business Intelligence products including but may not be limited to newsletters, reports, marketing collateral, data visualizations, and executive presentations. This includes effectively utilizing HubSpot, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Tableau (or equivalent) to produce intelligence products that address a particular greater:SATX stakeholder group, such as investors, site selectors, companies, or partner Economic Development Organizations.

    Provide as-needed project assistance pertaining to organizational planning, Business Insights, and Activations. This includes utilizing Salesforce and project management software to gain internal operational insights toward improving Tier 1-3 metric performance and in-person assistance to ensure organizational events are carried out according to plan.

    Networking and Organizational Visibility

    Develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of organizational stakeholders in public, investor, company, chamber of commerce, university & college, and other roles, participating in committees, groups, and other external events in order to enhance connectivity, break down silos, and sustain visibility of greater:SATX in relevant MSA-wide activities.

    Education : Bachelor’s degree in market research, business administration, economics, sociology, or related field.

    Experience :

    2-3 years in analyst or project management role within a business or nonprofit environment

    Experience developing and delivering professional presentations.

    Experience collaborating across multiple teams/functions.

    2-3 years compiling data and translating for business needs.

    Computer Skills :

    High Proficiency in MS Office Suite products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

    Experience with Lightcast, Salesforce, ArcGIS, Tableau, D&B Hoovers, CoStar, and LinkedIn preferred.

    Experience with online data research from sources such as Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, International Trade Administration, Small Business Innovation Research, TexasLMI and other government data sites preferred.

    Ability to learn and integrate new software programs as needed, in accordance with organizational strategic needs.
