    Product Development Intern

    Overview

    This opportunity will provide a holistic view of the product development process from end to end in personal care products for baby and family. Our intern will gain experience in new product innovation and continuous improvement for existing SKUs. She / he will work cross functionally with leadership, operations, and marketing teams as well as help manage external vendors. This internship offers the unique opportunity to learn product evaluation, competitive analysis, project management, and essential product development skills and will report to our Director of Product Development & Innovation.

    Note: This is a 3-month unpaid internship for academic credit and potential to transition to full-time PD coordinator! *Late March/early April start date.

    Responsibilities

    • Work on the creative development of new product ideas through competitive market research, and evaluation for existing products. Report findings to make recommendations for new products and improvement for existing portfolios.
    • Project manage development timeline, working with multiple contract manufacturers and vendors to track project status and ensure timely delivery for each step during the development process
    • Evaluate formula submissions and packaging prototypes, using experience, technical specs, etc. and provide feedback to the team for direction
    • Conduct product testing with labs and keep track on progress and results, including formula stability & safety testing, and technical testing for certifications
    • Manage certification application process and provide paperwork requested
    • Support domestic and international regulatory compliance review for product global launch
    • Work closely with our cross functional team to support requests from marketing, operations, creative, and customer service from the product development side.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Available to work in our NYC office at least 15-20 hours per week during the internship
    • Currently enrolled in a college / university
    • Passion for children’s health and development
    • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills and attention to details
    • Strong desire to learn and proven work ethic
    • Critical thinker and creative problem solver
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
