A conceptual thinker, with the vision and skill to craft unique brand experiences in physical environments.

You enjoy working on a multi-disciplinary team. You consistently push to develop strong concepts, and have an equal passion for the beautiful and impeccable execution of those big ideas. You fight for your ideas but keep an open mind.

We believe in the power of design thinking. We believe that working as a collaborative and cross functional team will lead us to amazing results for our clients. We believe great design can change the world.

Experience Design at Hornall Anderson is about emotions and stories. We’re a team of creatives who are passionate about brand experiences: environmental, digital, motion, technology, analog and otherwise. We believe tougher problems demand bigger ideas.

What you’ll do: Dig in to business problems and create strategic, conceptual, beautiful, and effective (built environment and environmental graphic) design solutions that engage the consumer. Bring your passion for design and brand to bear to create work that will help our clients move their brands forward.

    • Be a hands-on creative for project work in support of larger client and brand initiatives, focusing your time and efforts with our experience design team (environmental/physical experience design)
    • Conceptualize, create, and execute design solutions for multiple projects across diverse mediums, again with a focus on environmental graphics and built environments.
    • Work closely with interactive designers to think broadly about how digital shows up in branded environments
    • Verbally articulate your concepts and designs within both critique and client presentation environments
    • Juggle multiple assignments and projects
    • Collaborate with team members under the direction of a design lead

Abilities & Experience: Here’s what we think it will take to do this job, but we love being proven wrong:

    • A very strong portfolio showcasing branded environment projects
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strategic thinking skills and ability to see the big picture
    • BA/BFA in Graphic Design, Interiors, Architecture, Industrial Design or related field, or commensurate work experience required
    • 5+ years of experience as a designer with demonstrated success, preferably in a design firm or creative agency environment
