Colorado FIRST is in search of a Part-time Contract Bookkeeper to help with basic general accounting activities. The main responsibility of the position is the monthly general ledger posting activity in QuickBooks for all transactions incurred throughout the month.

Position Details:

• Part-time hours ranging from 2-5 hours per month, generally during the second week of the month.
• Contract position; hourly rate is $40-$50.
• The position is fully remote; will work closely with the CFO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Records numerical and financial data to produce financial records.
• Ensures financial data is entered correctly and timely.
• Enters journal entries to debit and credit the companys accounts.
• Generates accounting and audit reports for cash receipts, accounts payable and receivable, expenditures, and profits and losses.
• Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

** Required Skills/Abilities:**

• Basic knowledge of QuickBooks and general accounting principles.
• Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
• Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

** Education and Experience:**

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Additional education with accounting coursework is preferred.
• At least two years of bookkeeping experience preferred.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
