Job Summary The Flag Football Sports Coordinator in Fullerton is responsible for enhancing the i9 Sports Experience for parents, players and coaches. The Sports Coordinator will build relationships with players, parents, and coaches while making sure that the instructional aspects of the i9 Sports Experience are delivered. Observing, assessing, coaching, ensuring a fun and exciting atmosphere is a huge part of the job. We believe in having fun, encouragement, teaching but also keeping it professional. The sports coordinator will work closely with the coaches who are managing the teams. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skill levels.
Responsibilities
Empower volunteer coaches to lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and fun
Teach & demonstrate core concepts including Sportsmanship values
Supervise the overall operation of designated sport on game day
Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
Substitute coach for teams with coaches who miss practices and games
Independent problem solving and self reliance on quality work
Manage and empower referee officials reporting to you
Report to the Program Director
Qualifications
Excellent verbal & communication skills
Sport-specific coaching or playing experience & knowledge
Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently & problem solve
Awareness & ability to take charge of any situation to ensure the safety of players
Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional relationships
Ability to work a varied work schedule including weekends and some evenings
Worked with kids or know how to work with kids
Willing to grow long-term in the sports industry
