Job Summary The Sports Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the i9 Sports Experience for parents, players and coaches. The Sports Coordinator will build relationships with players, parents, and coaches while making sure that the instructional aspects of the i9 Sports Experience are delivered. Observing, assessing, coaching and ensuring a fun and exciting atmosphere is a huge part of the job. We believe in having fun, encouragement but also keeping it professional. The sports coordinator will work closely with the coaches who are managing the teams. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skill levels.
Responsibilities
Empower volunteer coaches to lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and fun
Teach, demonstrate and coach core concepts including Sportsmanship values and sport specific practice plays designed by i9 Sports
Supervise the overall operation of designated sport on game day
Work with the officials on game coverage and process improvements
Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
Substitute coach for teams with coaches who miss practices and games
Report to the Program Directors and Site Coordinators
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills
Sport-specific coaching experience & knowledge
Knowledge of other sports like flag football, Tball, soccer, volleyball, basketball (great to have but not required)
Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently, solve problems and be productive and proactive on what needs to be done
Awareness & ability to take charge of any situation to ensure the safety of players
Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional relationships
Ability to commit every Saturday (7am-2pm) to deliver the program
Worked with kids or know how to work with kids
Reliable transportation, must own a vehicle and lift up to 25lbs to haul sports equipment and set up on the field
