    iDesign is currently looking for qualified Early Childhood Education subject matter experts (SME) who are experienced in developing engaging online content that aligns with Texas standards. SME assignments are contract positions that are part-time, temporary on an as-needed basis only. The SME is a remote project-based, 1099 contractor position. We are not able to guarantee any full-time positions as a SME. The opening is for current project needs. Contractors must be able to work daytime, weekday hours in the Central time zone.

    What You'll Do

    As the Subject Matter Expert, you will work collaboratively with others on designing learning content, assessments, and other additional resources as needed. You will work closely with several team members, including iDesign leadership, Learning Architects (instructional designers), Learning Technologists, Quality Reviewers, and Copy Editors (and possibly other SMEs), to ensure the design and development of online learning support the partner's vision. You will also work with the Lead Learning Architect/Project Manager to inform them of issues that impact course design development and delivery of the project. SME involvement in a project will be variable based on the workload and your availability.

    The successful candidate will work remotely on a contract basis. iDesign recognizes that a quality workforce is paramount to our success.

    You will:

    • Collaborate with Learning Architects and SMEs to design superior online courses supported by research-based best practices in online learning.
    • Establish learning outcomes and alignment of content and assessment to those learning outcomes.
    • Design relevant assessments that align with course learning objectives.
    • Identify relevant open educational resources and appropriate instructional methods for online content delivery.
    • Work with Lead Learning Architect/Project Managers to ensure all deadline dates are met throughout the design and development process.

    What You Need to Get the Job Done

    • Masters degree required with a focus in Early Childhood Education, Ph.D. preferred
    • 3 to 5 years of experience teaching children EC-6.
    • T exas State Board for Educator Certified (SBEC) preferred.
    • Must be able to design curriculum that aligns with Texas Early Childhood curriculum standards (TEKs).
    • 3 to 5 years of curriculum development experience, preferably within higher education or early childhood education curriculum development.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a history of positive results achieved collaboratively.
    • Commitment to the project from start to completion.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in Google Drive and Docs.
    • Ability to design and develop high-quality learning content, assessments, and modules based on specific project guidelines.
    • Available to meet regularly during the week with a Learning Architect (LA) during the design and development stages.
    • Ability to work independently between working meetings with LA and complete action items as identified throughout the process.
