iFixit's staff is the focal point of a global community showing people how to fix the things they own. We believe that we can make the world better by empowering people to take control of their hardware. iFixit's education department is crucial to our mission and a core part of the content team at iFixit—working with thousands of students teaching repair, sustainability, and technical communication.

We're looking for part-time and full-time education assistants to spearhead our repair effort by helping run our university Technical Writing Project (edu.iFixit.com). The ideal candidate will interface with students across the country and ensure all aspects of the project, from organizing materials to providing student feedback, are handled promptly.

Candidates should:

• Enjoy working with people, especially teaching and working with students
• Have impeccable grammar; speak and write succinctly and clearly
• Have editing experience, and enjoy correcting tpyos and errors of the grammar
• Be a diligent, detail-oriented self-motivated worker who can work through repetitive tasks efficiently and independently
• Love tinkering, taking things apart, and fixing all their friends' stuff
• Approach life with patience and a sense of humor

Everyone at iFixit wears a lot of hats and participates in a wide variety of projects, but primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Working with students online, primarily via email
• Helping students troubleshoot technical problems, both physical and digital
• Website content management and organization
• Holding office hours for local students
• Assist maintaining and updating database of student materials
• Support other team members, especially in the face of bad puns

Remote opportunities are not available for this position. Apple industry experience is not necessary; neither is any specific degree. We'd say that the ideal candidate would be a one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people helper.
