iFixit is known for our high-quality video teardowns and in-depth repair tutorials. We have a well-established YouTube channel with over 1 million subscribers and an active TikTok account with over 55 thousand followers. But we know we can grow even larger. To accomplish that goal, we're looking for an intern to join our video team and focus on creating short-form video for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

You will work closely with our editorial and marketing teams to film and edit short-form videos, as well as assist in other video production projects. You will also collaborate with members of other departments to capture their day-to-day activities and initiatives to share with our online community at large. This entry-level position is a great opportunity to get real-world experience and expand your skills in video production for social media, while under the guidance of an experienced video team.

You should be social video-minded—you will need to ideate and execute videos quickly to keep up with social media trends and iFixit's day-to-day activities. And you should have excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex topics in short formats. Bonus points if you are a fixer/tinkerer, a follower of consumer electronics and tech news, and comfortable being on camera and a face on the internet.

We've got a lot of exciting things to film! We are only accepting candidates who are located in San Luis Obispo and can come into the office to film in person on a regular basis. This internship is part-time (20 hours per week), with the potential to turn into a full-time position. This position will start at an hourly rate of $20 per hour.

We want you to:

• Ideate, film, and edit short-form videos for iFixit's social media accounts
• Run second cameras on other video shoots
• Assist with filming and editing on larger projects

You must:

• Have experience creating videos for social media (include them in your application)

We are also looking for:

• Video editing experience (we use Premiere Pro)
• Familiarity with DSLR and other video cameras
• Great writing chops—you'll be writing scripts for videos
• Social video-minded and up-to-date on the latest internet trends
• Familiarity with consumer electronics hardware, tech news, and repair
• Comfort being on camera and a face on the internet
