Specific Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and integration systems through database design. Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database management. Provide a full range of database support for developing and managing database systems. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure. Modify existing databases and database management systems in accordance with DMEA IT policy and procedures. Develop and implement methods for integrating different products so they work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific DMEA mission requirements. Maintain and modify existing applications and websites. Supported languages and technologies include but are not limited to Visual Studio, C/C#/C++, SQL Server, Visual Basic, Active Server Pages, JAVA Script, Power Shell, WinBatch/WebBatch, SQL and SQL-BI, MS Access, and Delphi. At a minimum the Database Analyst / Programmer – Senior will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Improve the effectiveness of the database tools and services.
- Ensure all the data complies with legal regulations.
- Perform backups of data and test restorations.
- Monitor and report database performance.
- Create new databases, instances, clusters, and nodes to support customer requests.
- Troubleshoot performance issues with databases.
- Secure databases by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
- Accomplish platform upgrades and improvements.
- Perform System Administration by Managing Users, Groups, Roles, and Access Permissions.
- Ensure data is accessible, available, and secure from unauthorized access.
- Document incidents using the DMEA ticket tracking system and publish Knowledge Base articles when applicable.
- Maintain existing and when required create new SOPs in support of this objective.
- Perform database level changes, database design, and business process analysis to migrate data and/or media, including structured and unstructured data, by using provided software tools to convert information from one medium to another ensuring data accessibility and authenticity.
- Design, install and support Microsoft High Availability, and Windows Load balancing.
- Support software development programs, processes, tools, database applications, coding scripts, and other software development programs, processes, tools, and database applications in support of DMEA software maintenance requirements.
- Create new applications and modify and maintain existing applications resulting in up to 3000 new, contractor written, Source Lines of Code (SLOC) per instance.
- Establish and maintain software development processes and configuration control in In accordance with DoD and DMEA policy
- Configure DMEA SharePoint systems to specified requirements.
- Extending SharePoint functionality with forms, web parts, and application technologies.
- Maintaining and updating SharePoint applications.
- Monitors SharePoint software for any glitches or problems.
- Troubleshoots SharePoint issues promptly.
- Oversees activity pertaining to the maintenance of SharePoint.
- Customizes SharePoint site for DMEA purposes.
- Provides technical support for SharePoint users.
- Addresses questions or concerns from business owners or directors regarding the function of the software.
- Keeps apprised of Microsoft updates to SharePoint software.
- Applies updates to DMEA’s edition of SharePoint as necessary.
- Holds training and informational sessions to teach employees how to use SharePoint.
- Consults with management to devise the most useful ways to apply SharePoint to a business’s goals.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in database analysis, SharePoint Development and Administration.
Certifications:
- Must have one of the following Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II) certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) – Security
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
- Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
- Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials (GSEC)
- CompTIA Security+
- Certified Network Defender (CND)
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Must possess, or obtain the following computing environment certification(s):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate - within the first 6 months
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate
