    Job Purpose:

    We are seeking a skilled Azure Database Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development and optimization of database solutions on the Microsoft Azure platforms. As an Azure developer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing database structures, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing database performance for our applications and systems.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Database Design and Development:

    Design, develop, and implement database solutions on the Azure platform using technologies such as Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and more.

    Create efficient database schema, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application requirements.

    Collaborate with software developers to ensure seamless integration of database components into applications.

    Performance Optimization:

    Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and optimizing query performance.

    Implement indexing strategies, partitioning, and caching mechanisms to improve data retrieval and manipulation speed.

    Data Security and Integrity:

    Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

    Set up authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms to protect data at rest and in transit.

    Data Migration and Integration:

    Design and execute data migration strategies, ensuring smooth and accurate data transfers between various systems and databases.

    Integrate databases with other Azure services and applications, enabling seamless data flow and interoperability.

    Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

    Identify and resolve database-related issues, such as data corruption, connectivity problems, and performance degradation.

    Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backup and recovery, database patching, and upgrades.

    Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

    Document database design, architecture, and implementation details for reference and future enhancements.

    Collaborate with team members by sharing knowledge, best practices, and insights related to Azure database technologies.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data scientists, and IT operations, to align database solutions with business goals.

    Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management, providing updates on project progress and addressing concerns.

    Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:

    BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

    Should have hands 8 to 10 years of experience with database development using SQL Server

    SQL Server, T-SQL, query optimization tools and techniques, data modelling techniques, and relational database design

    Proven experience in database design, development, and optimization, with a focus on Microsoft Azure database services.

    Proficiency in SQL programming and database query optimization.

    Familiarity with Azure data-related services such as Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, and more.

    Knowledge of data security and compliance standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, etc.

    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) a plus.

    Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Capable of incident resolution during major incident process

    Good time management and prioritization skills; self-starters especially welcome

    Knowledge of emerging technologies

    Experience in pharmaceutical industry a plus

    Internal Responsibilities:

Logging of work details and progress made towards assigned responsibilities ensuring our software capitalization and commitment timelines are met.

    Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management.
