POSITION: SENIOR AWS CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER
LOCATION: LOS ANGELES CA OR PASADENA CA
DURATION: 6 OR 12 MONTHS (LONG TERM PROJECT MAY EXTEND TILL 24 OR 36 MONTHS)
Our Client is looking for a long-term contractor Senior AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in the Glendale, CA area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be a member of the Infrastructure Technology Services team.
- The goal of this position is to support the company's global business initiatives and clients by providing superior technology architecture and support services. Responsibilities will encompass a range of activities including, but not limited to, the following:
- General Systems Engineering, planning, design, implementation, administration and troubleshooting
- Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our AWS foundational footprint
- Responsible for design, development, and hands-on implementation of AWS cloud solutions
- Research vendor solutions and prepare Requests for Proposal as necessary
- Assist and work with others to troubleshoot production issues
- Liaison with application development teams
- Assist with implementations
- Assist with infrastructure architecture and sizing
- Maintain knowledge of current systems architecture and configuration
- Infrastructure and Commercial Applications documentation (as built, procedures, network)
SUPERVISION: Works independently, coordinating directly with company management, vendor personnel, audit advisors and local/international IT staff. Reports directly to head of Infrastructure Technology Services team lead. Receives direction from the, VP of Technology Operations, and CIO regarding corporate objectives

- Experience managing systems in a large, international organization.
- Implementation, management or experience with global technologies.
- Experience in following IT Governance practices including, but not limited to Change Management, and Incident Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in deploying and maintaining AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, load balancers, etc.)
- Experience in following a DevOps model
- Experience in deploying and maintaining Linux systems
- Experience in deploying and maintaining Windows systems
- Experience with PowerShell or Bash shell scripting
- Experience with MSSQL clustering is a plus
- Experience planning and executing the migration of enterprise IT systems and applications to cloud
- Experience with information security and data privacy, including Safe Harbor data protection standards, is a huge plus
- Experience with Azure cloud services is a plus
- Fluency with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Fluency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
- Fluency in web standards like HTTP, JSON and RESTful APIs
- Fluency with source code management tools (Git, AWS CodeCommit)
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (DynamoDB, MySQL, MongoDB, MSSQL)
- Familiarity with a high-level scripting language (Python, Ruby, PHP, etc.)
- Understanding of Microsoft network infrastructure dependencies
- Systems hardening expertise is a plus
- Ability to work independently without extensive oversight
