POSITION: BUSINESS ANALYST
LOCATION: CULVER CITY CA
DURATION: 11 MONTHS
- The Business Analyst will be dedicated to project work for Television Distribution IT and serves as a primary interface to the business users, with the guidance from either a senior business analyst or business relationship manager to assist Application Development Management (ADM) teams in understanding business processes, workflows and information requirements of users.
- The Business Analyst will primarily be responsible for creating functional stories and test cases for key system enhancement requests.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Collect, review, analyze, manage, system and user requirements from business users into user stories
- Document detailed functional & data business requirements, process flows, use cases, & information needs
- Work with the Dev team to clarify functional requirements
- Primary liaison to QA team, create test scenarios and perform UAT
- Ensures that delivery of project requirements meets the requirements defined by the business customer
QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3+ recent years' experience working on either accounting/financial reporting project dealing with TV distribution revenue recognition, billing/payment terms functional areas. Familiarity of SOX and/or GAAP guidelines a plus.
- 3+ recent years' experience in an agile environment with preferred experience working in a scrum tool like Jira or Pivotal Tracker
- Strong functional specifications and user requirements skills a must
- Evidence of business acumen in order to communicate effectively with business and IT in day-to-day operations and delivery of IT services
- Prior experience in the Entertainment Industry, preferably in Television, Home Entertainment, or Film is a huge plus
MUST HAVE:
- Strong billing and revenue knowledge
- TV Distribution exp.
- Understand contract interpretation / contract terms entered into the systems
- SOX Compliance
- Contract life cycle
