    Job Description

    BENEFITS CSR/ACCOUNT MANAGER

     

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:

    _The Benefits CSR/Account Manager will handle calls from customers to resolve, educate, follow-up and respond to questions regarding insurance benefits, administration, and procedures. Communication will be directed to business owners, employees of businesses, and TIS internal staff. The CSR/account manager will also be soliciting new business from existing clients, referral sources, and marketing campaigns. _

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    _Understands company policies and procedures as they apply to The Insurance Store and their contracted insurance companies (Aetna, Blue Shield, Anthem, Health Net, Kaiser, UHC, etc.) _

    Answers questions via telephone from employers regarding new hires, termination of employees, billing, rates, supplies, administrative procedures, etc.

    Educates, via telephone or email, employees/dependents regarding benefits, ID cards, administrative procedures, dependent coverage, address changes, etc.

    Follows-up on calls from clients regarding problems with benefits, procedures, and medical providers. 

    Interacts with staff, clients, providers, and insurance company reps on a daily basis and must be able to answer questions regarding Medical, Dental, Life and Disability questions.

      Verifies enrollments and resolves claim issues.

    Documents calls in call tracking system and Opportunities.

    Works in a paperless environment with the Doc Link system.

    Onsite regular attendance and punctuality is essential.

    EMPLOYEE CHARACTERISTICS:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially under pressure.

    Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    Accurate data entry skills is a must. Computer literate (Windows) and Word Processing Skills (MSWord).

     

    Knowledge of the health insurance industry and customer service experience preferred.

    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple assignments simultaneously.

    Problem solving skills is a must.

    _EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: _ High school diploma or equivalent. 

     

    Life and Health License is required.
