    Job Description

    About the Opportunity

    At Contentful, we are expanding our Account Executive team throughout North America to drive growth and support our customers. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to closing deals. Your role will involve driving new revenue opportunities, enabling customers, and utilizing a consultative sales approach that speaks to both developers and business leaders. Working closely with our Customer Success team, you will nurture and grow our customer base in North America.

    What to Expect

    • Identify and develop new sales opportunities and grow existing accounts
    • Meet quarterly and annual sales goals by creating an account strategy, managing internal and client processes, delivering presentations, and creating sales proposals
    • Prospect and develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers
    • Collaborate with internal and customer teams to manage requests and refine our sales model
    • Understand the digital experience challenges of prospects and customers and align them with the value of Contentful
    • Work closely with Sales Engineers, Solution Architects, and other teams to drive new business and retain customers
    • Create innovative proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals efficiently
    • Collaborate with Customer Success and Marketing teams to share best practices
    • Earn a competitive compensation plan with monthly and annual accelerators for exceeding goals

    What You Need to Be Successful

    • 4-8+ years of experience selling a technical platform
    • 5+ years of individual quota carrying experience with a track record of exceeding quota
    • Working knowledge of selling and positioning a technical SaaS and/or PaaS platform
    • 2+ years of experience growing existing customer accounts in a SaaS and/or PaaS environment
    • Demonstrated ability to sell transactions of $150k+ to organizations with $1b+ in revenue
    • Experience working with a Partner ecosystem to expand customer base
    • Experience closing deals with average selling prices (ASPs)
    • Ideal candidates have an understanding of sales-led growth motions and previous CMS experience

    The salary range provided is specific to hires in the United States. It is determined based on location, internal equity, market data, skills, and experience.

    • Intelligent – possesses aptitude to learn quickly and establish credibility
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
