LEAD DATA ENGINEER

DALLAS, CHICAGO, TORONTO OR REMOTE (NORTH AMERICA)

Our client, a disrupter in the real estate technology industry, is looking for a hands-on Data Engineering Leader. In this newly created role you will be the Data Engineering SME and collaborate with Product and R&D teams to drive architecture, roadmap and process decisions. Position is based out of Dallas but can sit in Chicago, Toronto area or remote from anywhere in North America. Light travel (<25%) may be required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Build scalable data ingress and egress pipelines across products and clouds.

Deploy new data transformation pipelines.

Diagnose, troubleshoot and improve existing data architecture.

Create and deploy ETL pipelines on cloud architecture.

Provide training to junior team members on areas of expertise

Requirements (must haves):

Experience working on backend data pipelines and comfortable navigating to remote VMs and using containerization technology.

5+ years experience as a Data Engineer

Demonstrated technical leadership experience:

Technical hands-on proficiency: Python, Hadoop, SQL/RDBMS, ETL, UNIX/LINUX, AWS or Google Cloud, Docker/Kubernetes (familiarity)
