    Job Description

    STEEL TRADING CO., SEEKS THEIR "OUTSIDE SALES" AT THEIR HOUSTON OFFICE

    Salary: Min $100,000~ (annual) + Full company benefits 

    Language: English 

     

    OVERVIEW: 

    The international trading company is hiring for their OUTSIDE SALES WITH STEEL/ PETROCHEMICAL KNOWLEDGE. 

     

    THE PRODUCT GROUPS: iron and steel, unique/ specialty steel, petrochemicals, nonferrous metals and minerals, machinery, tools, olefins/polymers.

    In Steel/ Petrochemical Sales experience: 8~10 years (ideally)

     

    POSITION OBJECTIVE:

    This position is responsible for their key accounts in South America/ Asia/ 15-25 accounts all over the U.S.

    International Trips: Mexico, Peru, Asia countries.  Domestics: short trips into West Coast, OH, MI

     

    REPORT TO: The Sales Manager 

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Set up the client’s meetings/ visitations/ travels

    • Meet the clients for their needs, talk about the products (products’ knowledge/ specs) 

    • Generate and follow up on quotes for all products

    • Manage entire sales cycles and communications with a Sales Support team to monitor invoices, import/export documentation, credit limits, etc.

    • Generate and manage the documents which are required by our customers and suppliers.

    • Arrange and manage import and export operations such as marine transportation

    • Manage the delivery date, delivery, and post-delivery maintenance and service operations

    • Coordinate and negotiate the prices and delivery dates with suppliers, customers, and forwarders

    • Communicate with our group companies promptly utilizing phone, chat systems, emails, and sometimes live meeting with TEAMS/ZOOM

    • Manage the sales performance and budget to achieve the sales goals

    • Submit reports to respond to necessary matters to the GM

    • Handle customer complaints promptly effectively and report potential claims.

    • Attend to the networkings/ seminars/ clients’ parties to make stronger relations with all clients (Clients relations) 

    • Bring up some Marketing ideas

    • Have efficient communications with their Sales Supports/ Inside Sales.

    • Other duties as assigned by the manager

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Sales experiences in automotive, OEM, parts manufacture, distributers, chemical companies: 8~10 years= IDEAL

    • Ability to communicate with global companies promptly (flexibility about the time differences)

    • Ability to develop new business opportunities while consulting for clients.

    • Strong negotiation/ communications skills 

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience in steel/ chemicals industry) 

    • Technical proficiency to quickly adapt to our in-house database software

    • Sales experience for 10 years.

    • Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail required

    • Strong networking skills with other companies. 

    • Proficiency with MS Word + Excel

    • Great communication skills

    • Ability to multi task

    • Ability to team works
