About the Role:

The purpose of a Kitchen Assistant position is to provide support to the kitchen staff in various tasks, such as food preparation, cleaning and organizing the kitchen, and ensuring that all equipment and supplies are stocked and in good working order. This role also involves assisting with food preparation and cooking, as well as adhering to all safety and sanitation regulations. The ultimate goal is to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. .

Responsibilities:

| Assist with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients.

Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup.

Stock and organize supplies and ingredients.

Assist chefs and cooks with various tasks, such as plating and cooking.

Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.

Assist with dish presentation.

Manage inventory and storage.

Assist with receiving deliveries.

Dispose of waste properly.

Ensure compliance with established quality and food safety standards.

Monitor the cleanliness and good condition of the kitchen, as well as the proper maintenance and use of equipment.

Verify the proper storage of kitchen supplies and waste.

Organize and monitor the general orderliness of the kitchen.

Perform any other duties, in addition to those specified in this description, as assigned by their immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
