Starting April 1 -- after school sitter needed! I've got two amazing, energetic girls -- 3rd grade and kindergarten-- who need to be picked up from school, taken home and cared for until about 6pm, in Park Slope Brooklyn. About 15-20 hours a week -- to allow for occasional later evening or date night. The girls love to do sports, arts and crafts, dance, baking -- they just love to do fun activities. Sometimes they have playdates come over after school, or I'd need someone to get them from a neighborhood playdate or take them to one, or take them to and from an activity. We are a fun-loving, relaxed family and both of us work full time, and we're seeking an exceedingly trustworthy and reliable person to become a loving, key person in their daily life. Overall these are very good, well-behaved girls but of course, I'd love to find someone who has a lot of patience (for our more intense and fast-paced older child, especially, who can negotiate like a well-trained lawyer) as well as overall store of energy and creativity for the their growing little minds, but also with a calm, soft side to help them spend their afternoons in an engaged but peaceful way. I've found that a calm presence can sometimes be just what energized children need to stay balanced. I do not want them on screens, nor do I want someone who is attached to their screen while they are with my kids -- unless they are Googling a craft or cool activity to do from Pinterest, hahah. The kids may try to weasel their way into watching cat videos on your phone, so stay strong! (Well, a few funny cat videos is ok here and there, lol.) note: We have two friendly cats. 4 or 5 nights I'd ask you to make a simple healthy dinner for them, and maybe help me by packing lunches for the following day. No housework except for helping tidy or cleaning up any messes they've made (making them do it where appropriate). We are pretty neat people, so helping keep things tidy -- doing the dishes the kids make, sweeping after their snack or dinner, is really appreciated. Also, while I work from home I also have a neighborhood office space too, so I am not always at home, but sometimes try to help out when one kid has to be at one place and the other has to be elsewhere. We will still need someone in the summer, albeit a tad less and one child will be away for 7 weeks so overall it will be more flexible in the summer. Look forward to talking with you.
