PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Business Analyst/Quality Assurance Engineer
Reporting to Director of Implementations
Enabling customers to get up and running on our platform quickly and successfully is the first critical factor in our customer’s journey. Most of our clients are able to leverage our platform and capabilities with minimal technical effort. However, in select circumstances, a more customized solution is required to deliver client value. These situations leverage the broad capabilities of the Implementation Team to support the delivery of these custom and bespoke solutions. In addition, this team will support our products and serve as the technical defense of product.
Our Implementation Team will work on a large and broad array of technical projects: ETL (to support ingestion of client data into our platform), training/supporting our clients on our SDK and APIs, developing consumer-facing microapps and websites, HTML/email templates, IVR scripts, highly complex “activation” solutions and custom integrations with client source systems such as CRMs and EHRs. The success of this team is measured by how efficiently it is able to onboard clients successfully and deliver these custom solutions. The Business Analyst/QA Engineer is a unique hybrid role that will contribute to the success of this team by:
Gathering and prioritizing requirements
Translating conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements and actionable work items in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
Estimating costs and tracking effort and expense
Helping the team adhere to plan and budget
Recommending areas for process improvement
Making sure that all software, applications, and features released for client implementations are high quality and bug free
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Analyst Responsibilities
Meet with internal stakeholders and customers to obtain and document business and technical requirements
Translate requirements into actionable items, including Statements of Work, Change Orders, Jira tickets, user stories, user flows and journeys, etc.
Estimate costs for project development and ROI
Monitor development hours for billing
Track development/project velocity
Recommend areas of business process improvement
QA Responsibilities
Create test plans and document test cases
Perform testing of frontend functionality and workflows via computer and mobile devices
Perform backend testing of APIs and microservices via Postman and other software
Perform regression testing
Ensure product quality is uniformly high and products are release ready
Validate reported bugs and document steps to reproduce
Create Jira tickets for confirmed bugs to be addressed by developers
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
Proficient in SQL
Strong ideation and conceptual skills
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Must be detail oriented, organized and able to relay concise feedback within organization
Must be a strategic thinker, flexible, self-starter, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit
Team player, reliable partner, and collaborative thinker is a must
Experience working in a matrixed environment including offshore resources
Experience with Excel and other number-crunching software
Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field
1 year of related work experience
Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
Proven work experience in software quality assurance
