Job Title: Medical Assistant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting healthcare providers with patient care, ensuring efficient and effective operations within the clinic or hospital setting. They will perform both administrative and clinical tasks to support patient care and maintain a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and updating patient records.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and medical procedures.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Administer injections and conduction of basic lab tests as directed by healthcare providers.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow to minimize wait times.
- Answer telephones, relay messages, and maintain clear communication with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Order medical supplies and maintain inventory to ensure clinic operations run smoothly.
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention under the direction of healthcare providers.
- Comply with regulatory policies, procedures, and standards to provide a safe environment for patients.

Qualifications:

- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training/experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Working Conditions:

- This position may require standing for extended periods and handling medical equipment.
- The role may involve exposure to infectious diseases with appropriate PPE provided.
