    The position will help oversee the financial operations of our US offices in Northampton, MA and Greenwich, CT.

    Job purpose

    The Controller is responsible for leading the accounting, cash management, financial reporting and analysis and risk management operations of metrica USA. Additionally, the Controller provides important data about the company’s strengths and opportunities necessary for the leadership team to steer the direction of the company. Key duties include the creation of financial reports and reporting packages, developing and maintaining analytics that monitor the health of the company, ensuring compliance with state and federal tax requirements and developing and documenting business processes to maintain internal controls. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer for metricaUSA.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue
    • Prepare all financial reporting including cash flow forecasts, project dashboards, monthly/quarterly results reporting and quarterly forecasts.
    • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
    • Develop and document processes that improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
    • Provide financial analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
    • Review and maintain compliance with all customer contracts and vendor subcontracts.
    • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
    • Support quarterly close process
    • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
    • Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
    • Maintain knowledge of all sales contracts and ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
    • Develop and maintain risk management policy including financial and business risk.
    • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors as required
    • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments

    Other:

    • Perform review and analysis of special projects and keep the leadership team properly informed
    • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers and clients while providing general support
    • Partner with HR to maintain office policies.
    • Liaison between finance teams in USA and GER
    • Maintain company inventory of equipment, software and hardware and account for value and depreciation accordingly.
    • Other duties as necessary

    Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
    • CPA or CMA designations preferred but not required.
    • 5+ years of accounting and financial operations experience, preferably in construction, design or manufacturing
    • In depth knowledge of accounting and finance principles, procedures, and systems
    • Demonstrated ability in analyzing data and making decisions that drive the business forward.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to instill that focus in others.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Can clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

    Working conditions

    • Based in either Northampton, MA or Greenwich, CT
    • Ability to travel between offices as needed.
    • Periodic weekend or evening work may be required.
    • Must be able to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

    • Dexterity utilizing hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines.
