    SPRING EQUAL ACCESS INTERNSHIP | 2023

    LOCATION: Nashville, TN

    POSITION TYPE: Part-time Internship

    INTERNSHIP LENGTH: January – May (15 weeks preferred)

    ABOUT US:

    mtheory provides artist managers with services, support, and capabilities across a wide range of disciplines, including marketing, touring, live event production, financing, digital services, and label services. Our manager clients include Element 1 (twenty one pilots, NF), Southern Ground (Zac Brown Band), Sarepta (Trace Adkins), Punkdafunk (SOFI TUKKER, Cut Copy), Equative Thinking (Smino, Masego), UROK (Liam Gallagher), and many more. Based in New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville, mtheory offers artist managers a platform to build their businesses and enhance their artists' careers.

    As a part of mtheory's goal and commitment to supporting and diversifying all areas of Country Music, we launched the Equal Access Development Program an artist and management training initiative, in partnership with CMT In April 2022. This initiative is designed to give artists and managers from underrepresented demographics in the country music industry the access, training, and networking opportunities they aren't always afforded.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supporting marketing associates and client managers with day-to-day needs
    • Perform critical global and regional streaming analysis for priority client projects
    • Create and manage artist one sheets, press and other associated promotional materials
    • Attend and participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions
    • Conduct vital artist research, including social network analysis, music platform analysis, touring history analysis, and online properties analysis
    • Participate in marketing meetings, mapping out artists' creative and social media campaigns
    • Assist in launching and running the Equal Access social media platforms
    • Conduct digital audits for current and potential clients and members of the cohort

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    • High energy, enthusiasm and a desire to learn
    • A self-starter who can take direction but work independently
    • An approachable and positive attitude
    • Basic video editing and graphic design skills or familiarity with platforms (Canva, Photoshop, iMovie, Capcut)
    • Great organizational skills and an ability to multitask
    • A strong interest in music, artist and business management
    • Previous internship experience in the industry is beneficial

    POSITION INFORMATION

    • Internship is part-time (preferred: minimum of 3 days per week, for 10 weeks)
    • Internship is paid at the minimum wage of the state in which the office the intern is working in
    • College credit is available
    • Access to a reliable internet connection is required for this position
