OUR FILM NEWS/DISCUSSION COMPANY MXDWN MOVIES IS LOOKING FOR A SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER TO SPEARHEAD AND MAINTAIN OUR ONLINE PRESENCE. IF YOU LOVE TALKING ABOUT MOVIES, HAVE A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF THE INDUSTRY, AND UNDERSTAND THE INS, OUTS, AND STRATEGIES OF SOCIAL MEDIA PUBLICITY, WE WANT YOU ON OUR TEAM.

WE ARE A GROWING COMPANY WITH ROOM FOR TALENTED AND DRIVEN MEMBERS OF OUR TEAM. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE POSITION IS UNPAID. THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF A PASSIONATE GROUP THAT LOVES TALKING ABOUT MOVIES, BUT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO OFFER COMPENSATION OUTSIDE OF SOME PRESS ACCESS. THIS IS NOT A FULL TIME POSITION, BUT WILL REQUIRE A REGULAR AND DAILY TIME COMMITMENT OF AT LEAST 1 HOUR SPREAD OUT EACH DAY.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE PROMOTING THE SITE’S CONTENT THROUGH PERIODIC DAILY POSTINGS ON OUR FACEBOOK AND TWITTER ACCOUNTS, WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION PAID TO BIG STORIES, REVIEWS, AND FEATURE ARTICLES. YOU WILL WORK IN TANDEM WITH OUR PUBLICITY CONTACT IN PROMOTING OUR BRAND AND VISION AS WELL AS MAINTAINING OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH FILM STUDIOS AND TALENT. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LIVE-TWEETING ANY MAJOR FILM EVENTS SUCH AS THE GOLDEN GLOBES OR OSCARS AND STAYING UP-TO-DATE ON THE EVENTS AND ACQUISITIONS AT COMIC-CON, SUNDANCE, OR VARIOUS FILM FESTIVALS.

Qualifications

Qualifiers for the Social Media Manager position should be as followed:

·       You love movies and love talking about movies

·       You have demonstrable social media experience. Please send us direct links to your personal and/or professional social media sites.

·       You’ve got great grammar and know how to proofread your own work.

·       You have a knack with words, brevity, and an appropriate amount of wit

We’ll Be Extra-Excited If…

·       You’ve worked in the film industry or have prior experience covering the movies through social media

·       You’re familiar with platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Google Drive

·       Bonus if you're familiar with SEO practices and applications
