mxdwn is a news site bringing “all that matters in entertainment” to its readers.  In the mxdwn Television department, we strive to cultivate engaging relevant content as well as entertaining to our readers.  We are currently looking for passionate writers with a strong interest in television as well as a solid voice to provide accurate, engaging, and relevant reporting.  Our dedicated and self-driven reporters cover breaking stories on amazing shows that people are talking about around the world. Examples include but are not limited to, Loki, The Last Kingdom, Barry, A Handmaid’s Tale, Atlanta, Succession, American Horror Story, Rick and Morty, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

mxdwn Television is currently looking to add television fanatics to provide in-depth reviews for some of the most talked about television programs on the air today. Successful writers will be tasked with covering certain television shows such as upcoming seasons of Loki, Rick and Morty, Dave, and many more. These writers will be viewing new episodes in a timely manner and provide their unique commentary combined with additional research to produce an engaging review for our mxdwn audience. 

In this role, Television Reviewers will be responsible for certain series and write the review stories on the designated release days during the week and complete them in a timely fashion. The role will require communication with the Television News Editor, Television Department Head, and the Editor-In-Chief to enhance your writing voice in addition to having a platform to expand exposure for your writing through the mxdwn fanbase, as well as obtaining further knowledge working with WordPress. 

If you want to attain experience in the industry, get your name out there, and/or share your thoughts concerning popular television series with individuals around the globe, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Interested writers should send a resume and cover letter. In your cover letter, provide a review for a recent series you have viewed through the lens of a standalone episode in around 300-500 words.

Qualifications

Have a passion for journalism, writing, and television.

Possess a mastery of the English language, including grammar, flow, structure, and spelling.

Be able to work professionally with all members of the Television department.

Have access to the internet and your own personal computer.

Do note that this position is UNPAID; the benefits of joining our team include experience, exposure, and a foot in the door into the industry.

Prior experience is not required; degrees in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or similar fields are a plus.  If selected, you will receive training on how to write and publish a standard article using our site’s content management system.
