Disneyland Manufacturing Engineering Internship – Spring 2023

Within the Disneyland Resort, the Facilities Shared Services (FSS) Division within the Facilities & Operations Services (FOS). This program is specially designed to develop you professionally, increase your practical knowledge in your area of technical expertise, provide field experience in the world of Manufacturing, while also completing valuable work for the Resort. You will have a wide range of opportunities to assist and provide key data to FSS Engineers, Engineering Service Managers and various Trades on a variety of project types providing facility and utility support to Attractions, Maintenance, Foods, Merchandise and Entertainment.RESPONSIBILITIES - Your role:Assist Engineers and Engineering Service Managers in routine maintenance and/or project work.Role to comprise of but limited to field data collection, drawing document locating, field verification, drafting on-site as-built documentation or rework, design coordination with outside design consultants, light design / production work, construction administration, commissioning, and close-out documentation.Support will be on a variety of projects ranging in scope from minor rehabs to building new facilities.Role will include both desk and field work that will require some flexibility on start time hours.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - What you bring to the role:Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and develop metrics to assess their output and capabilities.Review lists of complicated and specialty parts and assess if there are new technologies that can provide efficiency in creating these parts.Assess and propose efficiency in sequencing and scheduling attraction vehicle overhaul.Provide presentations/proposals for Design and Quality ImprovementsBring tools and academic learning of new tools and technologies that might assist in everyday manufacturing tasks.Tackle solving complicated tasks with assistance and supervision example production and availability of material, part manufacturing and turnaround.Provide a proposal for capital funding allocation for manufacturing parts.Provide solutions (presentation, diagrams, estimation) for Facility improvements for storage and manufacturing workflow. Role will include both desk and field work that will require some flexibility on start time hours.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Prior related work experience is desired, including co-op/intern programs with a focus on Industrial and/or/ Manufacturing EngineeringDemonstrated technical and interpersonal skills.Self-starter with demonstrated initiative – able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements.REQUIRED EDUCATION:Junior, Senior or Graduate student currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4-year College or University studying Manufacturing Engineering or related major.PREFERRED EDUCATION:Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Note: Please, no rounding) as shown on a transcript.THE TEAM:The Walt Disney Company is the global leader in high-quality entertainment and innovative technology.
