Job Summary: KTRK-TV is an ABC owned television station (OTV), located in a state-of-the-art facility in Houston, Texas. ABC13 (KTRK) Houston’s news leader is one of the most technically advanced television stations in the country. The station is a champion of innovation and is at the forefront of the changing media landscape. Our offices and studios are located in the Greenway Plaza area. The internship program is designed to provide students with an on-site educational experience that complements their academic studies. Interns will have an opportunity to observe and participate in the daily work and operations of a major market, television station, gaining firsthand experience in a broadcast technical environment. Responsibilities:A day in the life…Some of your projects with the KTRK-TV Broadcast Technology team may include:NetworkingComputer hardware/software deployment and troubleshootingPreventative maintenanceBroadcast automation systemsIP transmission systemsHelp desk requests resolutionSystem installationsBasic Qualifications:What you bring to the role…Basic understanding of broadcast or IT processesLove of troubleshooting and interest in problem solvingAttention to detailAbility to document in methodical detailed mannerBasic knowledge of Microsoft products and operating systemsFlexibility and ability to multitask in a fast paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:Majoring in Computer Science, IT, Technology, Engineering, or Radio/Television/FilmUnderstanding of Information Technology as well as the broadcast industryBasic computer troubleshootingKnowledge of network devices: switches, routers, firewallsPrior Help Desk support Enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship OR graduated within the past 6 monthsRequired EducationMust be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR graduated with in the last 6 months.Additional Information:Internship Eligibility:Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional InternshipMust be at least 18 years of ageMust not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
