    The Role: Coal Analyst Intern The Location: US The Team: The Global Coal Markets Team is a key member of the Global Power team and Commodity Insights. The coal team interacts with many other groups such as oil, natural gas/LNG and power and is responsible for producing reports research and analysis focused on coal markets but also as an input into broader energy outputs from the team. The Impact: This position will assist senior analysts with data research on coal imports, production and electricity generation for global coverage areas as outlined in “Coal Data In Order of Release.” What's in it for you: Opportunity to work with a thought-leading and highly experienced team in the industry Develop research and data input skills and potential to develop written analysis Responsibilities: Maintain and improve inputs and outputs for global coal markets analysts. Update specific pricing data for global coal forecasts weekly to assist with price forecasting. Update charts and graphs for consistency with S&P Global standard palette to be used in weekly and monthly reports and presentations Assist global power analysts with data inputs as needed. Proof read weekly coal reports and edit as needed What We're Looking For: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, finance or industry-related fields required or currently pursuing. Good communication skills. Strong attention to detail Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. At ease using features such as pivot tables, matrix formulas and other advanced Excel functionality is helpful.
