As one of our interns, you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. You’ll be assigned to a team and work on real-life projects that bring our products and services to life. You’ll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the 10-week program. Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our technology teams. You will be paid for the duration of your internship. The internship begins on Monday, June 5th and ends Friday, August 11th. Job Description As a Solutions Manager, you will develop expertise in acquiring, understanding, and developing requirements from the business around functionality and support, working collaboratively with the content creation and development, engineering, solutions management, and architecture teams. You will be helping Pearson analyze problems, working with technical partners and teams to understand the business needs, translating those into defined requirements ready for software engineering and architecture along with assisting the business in adopting the functionality, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating development dependencies across teams. What does the 10 weeks involve? Interns will develop a broad knowledge of business analysis at Pearson, completing rotational work with a number of teams focused on different business functionalities: narrative authoring, assessment authoring, video and audio development, rendering, and so on. There will also be an opportunity to work and contribute to solutions management strategic initiatives. Minimum Requirements Strong familiarity with Computer Science is necessary. Experience in computer software is a bonus. We prefer students studying computer science and other STEM degrees, HCI/UX, or Library Science. Students should also have a strong communication skills, both written and verbal along with an ability to translate business requests into technical asks. Students should be a ‘people person’, well-rounded and happy to take on new challenges. Flexibility is important, as you will be joining a versatile and agile solutions management team.
