    This newly created position reports directly to the COO with responsibility for operations and supply chain management. In business for over 20 years, our client is a successfully growing Logistics & Supply Chain outsourcing company. Headquartered in NC with over 500 employees, our client serves companies all over the USA. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction and tactical support to ensure the highest level of customer service, lowest total cost supply, optimal inventory levels, a capable supply base to support product development and a balanced order to delivery process to the customer.

    Our planned growth will outpace our existing Leadership Team, so the time has come for our company to recruit a strong, hands on operations leader with the knowledge, capability and willingness to grasp the challenge our business faces and develop and implement the strategies, tactics and projects necessary to assure our current and future success. The teams you will inherit are hardworking, focused and committed to succeed, but need a leader that can properly direct their and our operations.

    In the early day’s you will need to be very hands on in determining where we are, versus where we need to be. Key metrics and KPI’s will need to be confirmed or established, projects envisioned and implemented, with timelines for completion and teams established for getting the job done.

    PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING: The first 4-6 months, this person will be assigned a specific client/account that will require nights and weekends and travel between 4 facilities (Chicago, Nevada, Virginia, and Texas).

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Primarily responsible for all company locations and operating activities in manufacturing, customer service and supply chain management. The first assignment is a Direct to Consumer account so this must be a core strength.
    • Responsible for hitting core values of our products, culture and our client’s commitments.
    • Along with the COO, this person will be responsible for reviewing and approving all major Operations projects including hitting customer SLA’s, KPI’s as well as internal metrics around Financial, Human Resource, and operational performance objectives. 
    • Visit customers and key executives to ensure that we are meeting agreed upon service levels.
    • Responsible for capacity requirement planning to ensure proper and efficient utilization of systems, equipment, human resources, space, and facilities.
    • Maintain control of planned production, budgets, spending, labor and technology efficiency
    • Responsible to ensure all facilities are operated in an efficient, environmentally friendly, legal and safe manner
    • Responsible to implement a continuous improvement plan and culture to ensure that they have the capability to meet growth opportunities, business requirements and objectives competitively
    • Hire, motivate, and evaluate the holistic operations team in all functional areas of responsibility
    • Present monthly reports concerning all important aspects of Operations to the executive management team

    REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

    • 10+ years progressive experience in the management of Supply Chain operations
    • 10+ years of direct Site leadership experience
    • 3PL or consulting experience is highly desirable
    • Must have multi-site experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting
    • Bachelor’s Degree, (Master’s Degree desirable), in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related discipline
    • Knowledge of Labor cost reduction strategies, outsource manufacturing, a proven track record of implementing operational excellence and continuous improvement in manufacturing and supply chain settings
    • Excellent process management and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
    • Must be self-directed, have excellent initiatives and organizational skills
    • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
    • Travel as necessary to suppliers, sales offices and warehouses (approximately 75%)
