    JOB SUMMARY 

    The Paralegal provides support for electronic discovery projects, document production, document reviews and also performs general paralegal duties related to litigation matters including discovery, subpoenas, liens, and bankruptcy documents and filings. Must be familiar with standard e-discovery concepts, practices and procedures and have a successful record of experience and judgment of planning and accomplishing goals. This position requires attention to detail, multi-tasking, analytical skills, great customer service skills, as well as someone who works well in a team environment. Must be able to work under the pressure of strict deadlines on multiple projects in a fast paced, high volume environment.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    •  Assist as directed by case team members with e-discovery projects from inception to completion, including data collection, processing, quality control, output deliverables and data management

    • Assist in the legal hold process for matters involving the Company and identify, collect and review electronic and other documents for document preservation and discovery purposes

    • Identify and interview custodians of records and assist in the drafting legal hold notices

    • Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating a strong work ethic, effectively communicating with others, and proactively anticipating Department and user needs

    • Evaluate and document user needs, recommend appropriate technology and/or procedural solutions, and implement solutions

    • Serve as a resource and/or work on a team with members of the IT Department to resolve system and user issues

    • Provide support to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals

    • Possess a customer focus and have a track record of providing the highest level of customer service

    • Provide general paralegal support on litigation matters handled both internally and externally

     

    SKILLS

    •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently and effectively with a wide range of constituencies, including internal business clients, outside and opposing counsel, and potential and active plaintiffs. Strong written communication skills, reading comprehension skills and thoroughness in completing work assignments

    • Ability to handle multiple projects and strategically prioritize; time management skills are critical

    • Experience working in a variety of litigation contexts, including discovery (paper and electronic), litigation hold imposition and administration, factual investigations and party and non-party subpoenas
    • Experience with managing electronic records and with a corporate records retention program
    • Highly skilled in MS Office applications, especially Xcel
    • Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact and diplomacy to collect accurate information
    • Good decision maker and proven ability to manage time
    • Ability to take initiative in handling projects and anticipating what needs to be done
    • Able to resolve problems quickly, effectively, and diplomatically
    • Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities

     QUALIFICATIONS

    •  Bachelor’s Degree
    • Eight (8) or more years of experience in a law firm or corporation in litigation support or as a paralegal; Paralegal certification is preferred but not required
