    We are actively searching for motivated Day/Swing Shift Manufacturing Specialists to join our team located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Join our nLIGHT location in Hillsboro, Oregon and be part of a high performance team in a growing industry! nLIGHT manufactures high-power semiconductor lasers that are used in industrial, defense, medical, and consumer electronics applications. With global operations in Vancouver, WA, Hillsboro, OR, Shanghai, China, and Lohja, Finland, nLIGHT has grown rapidly since being founded in 2000.

    As a Manufacturing Specialist your main Duties and Responsibilities would be:

    • Support device manufacturing in various “hands on” production tasks including but not limited to: Die bonding, scribing, inspection, wire bonding, fiber lensing, electromechanical assembly and packaging.

    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Experience in electronic assembly is preferred but not required
    • Has an appreciation for timeliness, quality, and punctuality. This includes following all rules and regulations, including safety, attendance, breaks etc. established by management.
    • Ability to perform under pressure.
    • Maintains organization and cleanliness of assigned area.
    • Ability to read, write and comprehend internal documents written in
    • English such as work order travelers, inventory records, logs and general company records.
    • Basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication skills in order to process inventory, counting, time allocation, and work hours.
    • Have good attention to details and manual dexterity.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Soldering and/or wire bonding experience is a plus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Must be able to function well in an cleanroom environment.
    • Must be able to perform in cleanroom wearing cleanroom garments.
    • Must be able to work in a controlled chemical environment.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Must pass company required screening tests.
    • Must be able to stand or sit for up to 8 hours a day.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend and reach with hands and arms and perform light lifting duties without assistance.
