    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    Under the direction of the technical supervisor and medical director, the Ultrasound Technologist demonstrates competency and proficiency in all skills required to perform level I routine ultrasound procedures as defined by department protocols. All technologists utilize independent judgment and required knowledge to obtain high quality diagnostic ultrasound images. The technologist competently evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained and prior to submitting to interpreting radiologist. They educate the patient/family about the procedure and report all changes in patient’s status, including initiating emergency response if required. They accurately document patient information in the appropriate systems.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • ASSOCIATES DEGREE OR HIGHER. GRADUATE OF AN ARDMS APPROVED ULTRASOUND PROGRAM. MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS AN ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST, PREFERABLY IN AN ACUTE CARE SETTING. AMERICAN REGISTRY OF DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY (ARDMS) REGISTERED IN ONE OR MORE SPECIALTIES.
