  • Responsibilities

    The Vice President Finance reports to the CFO and has responsibility for all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning & analysis, and financial and strategic modeling. The position was established for the purpose of directing business programs and financial services; providing information and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining financial services and serving as a member of the Networks leadership team. These functions include annual budget cycle, quarterly forecasts, annual LRP, and any financial analysis or modeling as needed.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepare the annual budget in consultation with the Commissioner, Networks President, and CFO.

    • Develop annual financial plans, budgets, forecasts and Long Range Plans

    • Develop and evaluate new business initiatives and opportunities to develop new revenue streams.

    • Assess evolving media industry dynamics, create strategies to optimize network's business model in face of a changing landscape.  Create strategies to leverage new technology to meet the organization's financial data processing, control, and reporting requirements.

    • Assess and assist in the creation of business terms with prospective new content distribution partners, sponsors and advertisers, other business partners and critical vendors.

    • Provides financial analysis necessary to make informed decisions identifying risks and benefits.

    • Form a close working relationship with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.

    • Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis, modeling and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.

    • Evaluate the need for new technology to meet the organization's financial data processing, control, and reporting requirements

    • Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget for Networks, MMR and Sales Co

    • Prepare and maintains a wide variety of data for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.

    Requirements/Skills: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred).
    • 7+ years’ financial management experience, media background highly preferable.
    • An articulate and technically strong leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
    • Excellent computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint
    • High integrity and openness combined with a commitment to good governance.

    • Outstanding mathematics, financial and analytical skills
