We are looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager to join our Big Data Engineering team and build world-class data solutions and applications that power crucial business decisions throughout the organization. You are an open-minded, structured thinker and seasoned leader, who is passionate about building systems at scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• You will build and lead a team of data engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development
• You will provide deep technical guidance in a number of aspects of data engineering in a scalable ecosystem
• You will work with close counterparts in other departments as part of a cross-functional team, and nurture this culture in your team
• You will both foster innovation and drive delivery
• You will participate in code reviews/pull requests and design reviews

 QUALIFICATIONS

•  5+ years of management within a technical organization
• 10+ years in the IT industry
• Well-versed in data-driven and data-informed product development •
• Strong understanding of backend software engineering, data engineering, and basic data science
• Experienced in SQL, data modeling and ETL processes as well as building data pipelines
• Experienced in Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka
• Experienced manager with a strong record of attracting and growing great engineers
• Experience with solution building and architecting with public cloud offerings such as Amazon Web Services, Redshift, S3, EMR/Spark/Hive
• Deep understanding of big data challenges and eco-system
• Experience in test automation and ensuring data quality across multiple datasets used for analytical purposes
• Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language such as Python
• Have worked with Data Science teams or analytics teams
• Graduate degree in Computer Science or similar
