Job Summary Deer Run Winery is seeking a dependable Part-Time Cook to join the team at our Tank Room Café. This position focuses on prepping and preparing lunch items and Sunday brunch offerings using fresh, quality ingredients. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and comfortable working in a small, fast-paced kitchen. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys consistent prep work, simple menu execution, and supporting a smooth service for our guests.
Primary workdays: Saturdays and Sundays During our busy season (May through September), additional days and hours will be available Hours may vary based on events and winery traffic
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes Assist with food prep, including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines Support kitchen operations during tastings, events, and busy service periods Work collaboratively with front-of-house and management staff Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes
Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
Excellent time management skills
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
