    Job Description

    Reporting to the Sr. Director of Cost & Inventory Accounting, the Sales Audit Manager **** serves the business by leading a team of Sales Auditors who review sales transactions, reconcile tenders and bank deposits, identify exceptions or errors raised by the sales audit process and systems, investigate the exceptions and make any corrections that are required so that accurate sales data can be passed on to other systems such as Merchandising, Inventory Management, and Financials, among others. The Sales Audit Manager is also responsible for managing the workload of the team, developing rules for use in the sales audit process, ensuring all sales auditors are meeting goals and timelines for auditing and closing stores, helping auditors to identify patterns of irregularities and loss prevention issues, and identifying consistent areas of concern across locations.

    What will a day in the life look like as our **** Sales Audit Manager? Below is just a small sample of the contributions this key role will do to support our business.

    • Lead, coach, and mentor team members by developing solutions to ensure that subsystems and financial statements are accurate and compliant.
    • Provide timely analysis of irregularities identified in the reconciliation process and communicate to appropriate partners for corrective action and investigation.
    • Provide regular analysis and reporting that identify areas for improvement, along with potential change solutions that drive strengthened controls and/ or increased revenues.
    • Complete required periodic closings of subsystems to interface with Lawson General Ledger. Includes completion of Close Week journal entries and assigned Balance Sheet reconciliations.
    • Collaborate with various internal and external partners, such as Store Operations, Loss Prevention, or external service providers to implement new programs or effect positive change. Manage related external relationships; review and approve invoices.
    • Compile audit requests and schedules, as well as provide assistance, during annual audits and appraisals.
    • Build assigned budgets or forecasts for relevant expenses such as Cash Over/ Short, Bank and Credit Card fees and armored car services.
    • Record all Ecommerce sales activity, capturing related expense. Support strategic changes as required.
    • Manage New Store set-up and Closing Store wind-down processes, controlling and recording appropriate expenses.
    • Support Accounting team with banking operations; open and close accounts, provide reporting as needed.
    • Team with IT partners to test and implement required POS system changes and enhancements. Includes set-ups for new tenders or transactions.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Education and Experience**

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
    • Experience: 5-7 years accounting experience in either public accounting or corporate accounting preferably in Retail; Prior transactional Sales Audit experience a plus
    • Working knowledge of GAAP. Experience with Lawson and Island Pacific a plus.
    • Ability to work and function independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks/assignments and consistently meet deadlines.
    • Must be organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skill.
