General Summary
COLSA Corporation is hiring for a UAS Specialist to join our Uncrewed Systems Department where you will participate in the integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).
*Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions)
· Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones
· Makes recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.
· Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies
· Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc.
· Documents processes and build techniques
· Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues
· Participates in testing, data collection and analysis
· Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement
· May assist operations and training team with curriculum and training demonstrations
· Travel for field testing and/or project meetings
· May pilot drone following a specific flight plan or obtaining useful footage

Required Skills
Required Experience
Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience
· Mission Planner, Q Ground Control, PX4 and Ardupilot experience
· Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance within 6 months of hire; US Citizenship required
· Willing and able to travel with UAS Operations and Training teams up to 10% (as needed)
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience operating within a DoD environment
· Familiarity with mechanical systems and parts compliance requirements
· Experience with sUAS design, prototyping, and assembly is a plus
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematic blueprints
