    SBM Offshore is currently recruiting for a PROCESS DESIGNER.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The basic purpose of the Designer 3 is to draft and check engineering drawings for projects based on instruction from the Process Engineer.

    The assignments for the Designer will typically be given by the Project Process and Safety/Loss Prevention Lead Engineers. The Designer is accountable to the Project Process and Safety/Loss Prevention Lead Engineer and to the Process Systems Manager for his/her overall performance. The Designer will be required to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing the work will be handled through the Process Department Manager.

    The designer will actively coordinate with other engineers and other designers to efficiently produce a high quality product within the project schedule.

    Technical advice and direction is received from the Process and Safety/Loss Prevention Lead Engineer, Process Systems Manager as well as other experienced company personnel.

    Main Tasks:

    • Generate 2D drawings using the Company's CAD system to illustrate the process design as per instruction from the process and loss/preventions engineers in accordance with the project template and symbology. Drawings include but are not limited to the following: ◦Process Flow Diagrams

    ◦Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams

    ◦Safety Plan (LSA)

    ◦Fire Control Plan

    • Achieve a high level of accuracy and efficiency in developing the engineering drawing to avoid re-work.
    • Create a strong communication line with the engineer.

    Other Responsibilities:

    The Designer is expected to take full ownership of his/her assigned tasks, meaning:

    • Understand why the task is required, who needs the generated information and for what.
    • A basic understanding of the required level of detail for the applicable revision/project phase.
    • A basic understanding of the how the task is impacting the overall project schedule and how it impacts the schedule of other engineers and/or disciplines.
    • Being responsible for obtaining the necessary input to perform the task, keep all parties involved up to date with the progress and making sure the task is finished on time.
    • Get help with any of the above requirements if and when required.

    The Designer is responsible for performing work consistent with Company Procedures, Quality Assurance Procedures, Corporate Engineering Standards, Department Work Instructions and all tasks and duties as assigned by SBM Offshore Group Management. The originator of a document is primarily responsible for the correctness and quality of their work.

    • The Designer shall always maintain a professional appearance in behavior, communication and clothing.
    • The Designer is expected to play an active role in the departments developmental activities.
    • The Designer shall actively share Lessons Learned on all of his/her activities.
    • The Designer is responsible for creating a healthy work environment where all team members are comfortable working in.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    Seasoned professional. As a guideline, should have 7 years’ experience in 2D drafting. Multiple years experience with Intelligent P&ID software (i.e. Aveva P&ID or Diagrams). Excellent technical know-how and overview throughout his discipline.

    SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the skill, and/or ability required.

    • Proficient with AutoCAD Software
    • Proficient with Intellegent P&ID Software (preferably Aveva P&ID & Diagrams)
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
