    SBM Offshore USA, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Safety Design Engineer in Houston, Texas. In this role you will be responsible for: Generating all P&IDs and layout drawings related to loss prevention, safety equipment, and escape routes including coordinating with designers and drafters to ensure that the design is properly translated to the drawings and specifications; generating all calculations and reports required to support the loss prevention design; leading and executing risk assessments, hazard identification/evaluation studies, hazard operability studies, consequence analysis, layers of protection analysis, and departmental reviews; writing specification/datasheets for specialized safety and loss prevention equipment or components for projects; assisting in the package management of specialized safety and loss prevention equipment or components for projects.

     

    Requirements: Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or closely related engineering field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in related loss prevention (Fire Protection) with experience on maritime structures. In lieu, will accept a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or closely related engineering field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience in related loss prevention (Fire Protection) with experience on maritime structures.
